CAREER TRACKS

In an effort to help our associates grow within the company, Windsor Academy offers Career Tracks. These tracks are designed to allow associates to complete prearranged blocks of classes that focus on specific disciplines. After successfully completing one track, associates then move to the track most befitting their goals and potential. The Career Tracks include:

SAMPLE TRACKS AND CLASSES


ORIENTATION TRACK

Orientation II
This class continues where Orientation I left off. We will cover all the other information new employees need to make a successful transition to Windsor Property Management, such as our corporate structure, history, philosophy, policies and procedures, benefits, and training programs.

Customer Service
Superior customer service is the surest way that a Windsor community can set itself apart from the competition. This class will provide a basic guide to effective communication skills and maintaining customer loyalty.

INTRO TO SALES TRACK

Telephone Techniques
The telephone call is often a prospect’s first contact with the property. Proper handling of each phone call is crucial to your property’s success. You will learn your number one goal of handling a telephone inquiry, and numerous techniques from how to prepare for a call to following-up in order to achieve that goal.

Internet Marketing
The Internet has quickly become the number one tool prospects use to conduct their apartment search. Prospects that submit a web inquiry are even more qualified than those that are just calling around. This class will explain why. How to market and use the Windsor website, handle hot Internet leads, and maximize online advertising are extensively reviewed.

ADVANCED SALES TRACK

Advanced Sales
Learn new, exciting approaches to leasing apartments and refine your existing sales skill set. This course will give you a new way of looking at sales, and a renewed energy to do what you do best—turn those prospects into residents!

Manager-In-Training Program (MIT)
This collection of course material was designed for the successful marketing associate ready to take the next career step. This exciting program includes a rigorous enrollment process, essential courses, research assignments, attending manager's meetings, mentor assignments and testing. When an associate graduates from MIT, a career path destination, referred to as a Certified MIT Graduate, will be obtained. Some of the course material required includes:

  • Marketing Strategies and Planning
  • Risk Management
  • Human Resources Issues
  • Leadership and Managing a Team

MANAGER TRACK

Financial Tactics
This course covers the key topics needed for successful management. Understand the "big picture," so that you can set goals and manage your people to success. Learn how to analyze your historical and projected property statistics. This course will also teach you how to gather, analyze and evaluate market data in order to create a budget that is accurate and reliable. Be on top of the numbers, price your availability effectively and grow your NOI!

Sales for Managers
Sales involves more than closing prospects. Managers must work behind the scenes to assure a climate ripe for successful selling! Aggressively pricing units, staying on top of coming availability, maintaining a clear vision of your product and continuously motivating your team are just a few of the items managers must juggle and will learn in this course.

LEADERSHIP TRACK

Employee Retention
The best managers and supervisors know how to command outstanding performances from their people. Learn their secrets and other invaluable information on how to motivate and retain. Brainstorm new and refreshing idea to take back to your property and implement immediately. Managers and supervisors must also exercise effective teambuilding and communication skills to run a successful property. Learn how to organize productive meetings, give meaningful employee feedback and build a cohesive team.

SUPERVISOR IN TRAINING (SIT)

Shop Organization
A clean and well-organized maintenance shop promotes effective management of a Windsor community. In this course learn how to organize and maintain your maintenance shop, so that you and your staff are able to maximize your time and performance.
